Investigators Make Arrest for Elder Abuse and Domestic Violence Charges

On April 14, 2024, Morgan County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a residence in the 12000 block of Hwy 67 in Joppa, AL in reference to a domestic assault. Once on scene, an elderly female was transported by ambulance to Cullman Hospital for treatment of a wound sustained from the assault.
On April 15, 2024, Investigator Tony Vest identified the suspect as Jammie Dewayne Thompson, 50 of Joppa. Inv. Vest obtained Domestic Violence in the 2nd degree and Elder Abuse 2nd warrants for Thompson.
Thompson was located by Sgt. John Dickson and Inv. Tony Vest in the Joppa area and arrested for:
- Elder Abuse 2nd Degree
- Domestic Violence 2nd Degree / Burglary 3rd Degree
- FTA - Criminal Tresspass
Thompson was transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail by patrol deputies. Bond: $20,494.20
