The Morgan County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division protects and serves all of Morgan County's 599 square miles of land and water. Traveling over 2 million miles per year, Patrol Deputies respond to almost 30,000 calls for service annually. Patrol Deputies are the most visible aspect of the Sheriff's Office. They can be seen working across the county 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Our Patrol Division is comprised of 2 rotations with 4 12-hour shifts. Each shift has a Sergeant, a Corporal, and 4-5 Deputies. The overall patrol division is supervised by a Lieutenant.

Additionally, they take part in many of our public events that take place throughout the year: The Alabama Jubilee, Spirit of America Festival, Hartselle Depot Days, Eva Frontier Days, Falkville Fall Festival, Annual Christmas Parades in Eva, Priceville, Hartselle, Decatur, and Trinity, Christmas in the Park in Falkville, as well as area Football games for Brewer, Danville, Falkville and Priceville High Schools.

Our Patrol Division also provides the opportunity for businesses, private citizens, and organizations to contract additional law enforcement services with off-duty sheriff's deputies. During off-duty employment, deputies are directed by their law enforcement powers, which are governed by state code. Deputies do not have the authority to enforce private employers' rules and regulations, and cannot perform non-law enforcement tasks. Common requests are for a visible presence, protective services, on-site security, theft prevention, and traffic control. Compensation for off duty details is $55.00 per hour.
