Corrections Corporal Arrested During Narcotics Investigation

As part of an ongoing Narcotics Investigation, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, the Morgan County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant on the residence of a Morgan County Jail Corporal, located in the 1800 block of College St in Decatur.
At the residence Agents located quantities of Fentanyl, Amphetamine, and Marijuana.
Agents arrested:
Deborah Terrell, 42 of Decatur. She is charged with:
- 13A-12-231 - Dangerous Drugs-Drug Trafficking - Fentanyl
- 13A-12-212 - Unlawful Possession/Receipt of Controlled Substance - Amphetamine
- 13A-12-214 - Dangerous Drugs-POM 2 Possession of Marijuana
Lester Bufkin, 44 of Decatur. He is charged with:
- 13A-12-231 - Dangerous Drugs-Drug Trafficking - Fentanyl
- 13A-12-212 - Unlawful Possession/Receipt of Controlled Substance - Amphetamine
- 13A-12-214 - Dangerous Drugs-POM 2 Possession of Marijuana
Bond $11,300.00 for each individual.
The arrests stem from an ongoing narcotics investigation to prevent jail contraband. Additional arrests are possible. As of the arrest, Terrell is no longer employed at the Morgan County Jail.
