Subject Attempts to Escape Custody Upon Arrival at Jail

On June 8, 2023, Lt Kelso picked up an individual wanted on multiple Morgan County Failure to Appear(FTA) warrants from the Lawrence County Jail.

Upon arrival at the Morgan County Jail, the individual appeared to determine that our accommodations were not to her liking and fled from our custody on foot. She was quickly apprehended just off of our parking lot on the corner of Lee St NE and 1st Ave NE by members of our team.

Kimberly Ann McNeely, 36 of Athens was charged with:

13A-10-33 - Flight/Escape-Escape

As well as outstanding warrants for:

13A-10-40 - FTA (Failure to Appear/Comply/Pay) - Driving While Revoked

13A-10-40 - FTA (Failure to Appear/Comply/Pay) Driving While Suspended

13A-10-40 - FTA (Failure to Appear/Comply/Pay) Speeding Less than 25mph

She was booked into the Morgan County Jail. Bond $3500.00
