Sheriff's Office Assist US Marshals and Secret Service

On Friday, April 28, 2023, the Morgan County Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division, Drug Enforcement Unit, Patrol Division, and Unmanned Flight Operations Unit assisted the US Marshals and Secret Service apprehend a wanted subject on Mt. Taor Rd in Hartselle.

James Francis Kubach Jr, 32 of Hartselle was wanted on multiple felony warrants including Armed Robbery and Federal Probation Violations. Agencies located Kubach in a yard in the 100 block of Mt Tabor Rd where he began running from Deputies, but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. A search warrant was obtained and Deputies located illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Additionally, a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun and a .380 handgun.

In addition to the outstanding felony warrants, Kubach is now charged with:

  • Certain Persons  Forbidden to Possess a Firearm
  • Possession of a Short-Barrel Shotgun
  • Trafficking - Fentanyl
  • Possession of Marijuana - 1st Degree

The subject was transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail.

Agencies involved were Morgan County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, Drug Enforcement Unit, Patrol Division, Unmanned Flight Operations Unit plus Madison County Sheriff K9 Unit, US Marshals, and Secret Service.
