Inmate Dies after returning from Hospital

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, an inmate, Randall Hank Bolix 34, who had been in the hospital since Wednesday for an infection, returned to the Morgan County jail.
Upon arrival, he was checked by medical and placed in a holding cell at 1:29pm. At 1:31pm he requested assistance and officers and medical staff responded.
Decatur Fire and Rescue arrived and began medical treatment at 1:40pm. The patient was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased at 2:26pm.
Bolix was in jail after being arrested by the Falkville Police Department in February on 5 counts of Sodomy, 1st degree.
Morgan County and ALEA SBI investigators have responded to the jail.
