Sheriff's Narcotics Unit Locates Fentanyl, Arrest 2

On April 23, 2025, Agents with the Morgan County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant in the 2200 block of Harrison St SE in Decatur. The warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation involving individuals living in the home.

Upon arrival, Agents observed a subject flee from a back window of the residence. After a brief foot pursuit, Agents took the subject into custody. He was identified as Laron Cornelius Edwards, 27 of Decatur, one of the individuals involved in the investigation.
While fleeing, Agents observed Edwards throw a bag containing approximately 19 grams of a substance that field-tested positive as fentanyl.

As Edwards was being taken into custody, additional Agents made entry into the residence. Upon entry, they made contact with Calee Rosel Consetta Downey, 39 of Decatur. It was determined that Downey had active felony warrants for Permitting or Facilitating Escape 1st Degree, along with a Parole Violation. During a search of the residence, Agents located a quantity of synthetic cannabinoids, a firearm, and drug paraphernalia items.
Laron Cornelius Edwards was placed under arrest and charged with:

  • Trafficking in Illegal Drugs - Fentanyl
  • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance,
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence,
  • Fleeing/Attempting to Elude
    ....in addition to multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants with Morgan County.

DOWNEY, CALEE ROSEL CONCETTA - #IN25-02164.

Calee Rosel Consetta Downey was placed under arrest for the two outstanding warrants previously mentioned.
Both subjects were transported to the Morgan County Jail. No Bond.
