03/03/2025

Back of Agent, with Vest

On February 27th, 2025, Agents with the Morgan County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit (MCSDEU) attached to the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force - Region F (ADETF) conducted an operation in the southwest side of Decatur near Flint. During the operation, Agents located and seized nearly 4 pounds of methamphetamine and two ounces of cocaine. While at the scene, Agents also made contact with Jaquine Tuakei Love of Huntsville, AL.

As the investigation evolved, it was determined that Love was in possession of additional quantities of narcotics at a residence in Huntsville. Morgan County Agents coordinated with Agents assigned to the North Alabama Drug Task Force (NADTF) in an effort to recover those additional quantities. Shortly thereafter, Agents from the MCSDEU, ADETF, and NADTF arrived at a residence in northwest Huntsville where they located nearly two pounds of methamphetamine within the residence.

At that point, Love was transported to the Madison County Jail where he was placed under arrest for Trafficking in Methamphetamine due to the narcotics recovery that occurred in Huntsville. He was booked into the Madison County Jail where he remains on a $1,500,000.00 bond.

During the operations, Agents determined that Love had attempted to have an individual relocate another quantity of methamphetamine in Decatur. Morgan County Sheriff DEU Agents responded to the 2800-block of Sandlin Rd where they made contact with an individual and located approximately 11 ounces of methamphetamine associated with Love.

After his release from Madison County Jail, Love will be charged in Morgan County with:

  • two counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • one count of Trafficking in Cocaine.

He will be transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail. Bond $750,000.00 bond.

Seized Narcotics

In total, Agents seized over 6 pounds of methamphetamine and two ounces of cocaine.

The illegal use and abuse of Narcotics continue to harm families, neighborhoods, and communities, but they are not limited by city or county lines. Because of that, we are thankful for the ongoing collaboration and mutual aid between agencies across north Alabama." - Sheriff Ron Puckett
