On February 13, 2025, Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Kirby Bridge Rd near Jenny Lee Rd. The vehicle failed to stop and attempted to flee. While fleeing, the vehicle had a female subject with a dog exit the vehicle before the vehicle continued to flee. The female and dog left he scene.

Deputies were able to stop the vehicle on a dirt County Rd 294 in Lawrence County with no injuries. Deputies arrested Jeremy Oneal Mahathy, 43 of Decatur, charged with:

• Attempting to Elude (Felony)
• 2 Probation Revocation Warrants
• Resisting Arrest
• Driving While Suspended/Revoked/Canceled
• 3 counts of Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign.
